Enjoy funny cartoon snippets of characters created during and after the theatrical shorts period, play trivia and games with fellow attendees, and discuss the criteria Gitlin used to rank the best of the best.

About the Author
Martin Gitlin, who has had more than 150 books published since 2006, including the critically acclaimed Great American Cereal Book (which was featured in the New York Times, Time Magazine, Reader's Digest, Wall Street Journal) will also talk about the historical significance of such characters as Popeye, Bugs Bunny, Mickey Mouse and SpongeBob SquarePants.

Martin Gitlin spent the Saturday mornings of his youth watching cartoons and much of his adult life doing the same with his young daughters, who helped inspire him to author A Celebration of Animation: The 100 Greatest Cartoon Characters in Television History. An award-winner as both an author and newspaper journalist, Gitlin has written about 150 books since 2006 in the realms of historical pop culture, sports, and history.
He has three grown children and currently lives in North Olmsted, Ohio, with wife Mitzi and very furry dog.
